This week we explored God as "I AM Peace" - Yahweh Shalom. Like Gideon, we often bring God a "peace offering" when He's asking for a "burnt offering" - total surrender, not shared glory. Gideon thought he'd share a meal with God, but God consumed it all, demanding complete consecration to His purpose.

God wants to trade your worry, anxiety, and fear for His perfect peace - the shalom that brings wholeness, health, security, and salvation (Philippians 4:6-7). But first, we must tear down the idols in our lives: money, status, entertainment, comfort. Peace begins when we remove what is not sacred and fix our thoughts entirely on Him (Isaiah 26:3).

The question isn't what you're willing to give God. It's whether you'll give what He's commanded - everything. When we surrender fully, we discover the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Here's the truth: We can't bring heaven to earth while holding onto our own plans. Jesus taught us to pray, "Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:10). But that requires a radical shift in our thinking. Paul said it clearly - we must capture EVERY thought and make it obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).

We are no different than the Israelites. And got want to give us what He has promised us but first we must know the promiser. To learn how to worship and walk in the fear of God. The teaching of "The Fear of God" is all in the scripture but so few people know what this is. Moses declared that if we operated in The Feared God, it would keep us from sinning. And now we can see the clearer picture of why the Israelites wandered for 40 years.

We will discover that after wandering through the desolate and seemingly devoid of God’s presence, a yearning for His return emerges. This return is intended to renew within us His covenant. Will we demonstrate courage and renew ourselves to the covenant that enables us to enter into a place prepared for us? 

Jesus delivered a message that continues to serve as the bedrock of Christianity, emphasizing the necessity of repentance and a return to God. Notably, when Herod rejected the same message that John the Baptist proclaimed, Jesus remained silent in response. Furthermore, Herod stands alone as the individual whom Jesus never addressed. This silence stems from the fact that Herod was afforded an opportunity for repentance but ultimately disregarded it by executing the messenger. Consequently, when we refuse to repent, we swiftly discover that God ceases to communicate with us.
