Sarah has accepted a new position with For Evansville and will be stepping away from her staff position at One Life. Although we are sad, we are excited that she will be part of impacting our community in new ways and are grateful for the impact she has made here at One Life.

We are excited for the future as we have promoted Sarah's protégé, Jimmy Marshall, as the new Communications Director. Jimmy is excited about all things social and has an exciting perspective on some ways to build upon what Sarah has helped create here at One Life.

Geoff is the Director of Global Operations at Uncharted and has been able to connect firsthand with friends in Myanmar. Uncharted and One Life have been connected to Myanmar for many years and have a genuine love for so many there.

In February 2021, a military coup seized control of the country of Myanmar and have instilled a state of fear in the entire country. At One Life we have shared some things about what’s happening in Myanmar and have continued praying, but we wanted to learn more and educate ourselves on what’s been happening in Myanmar since February.

Our staff recently went through a quarantine due to Covid-19, and that added some interesting things to navigate. 2 of the One Life campuses were robbed in the same evening.

We also discuss loss and grief, as we remember our friend, Donna Nunn. Donna was highly involved in One Life Church and is the mother of the Campus Pastor of our Henderson Campus. Donna passed suddenly just this week prior, and we remember her with some stories from her family, as well as some of our own.

Even in this difficult time for so many, is it still possible to find beauty?

Matt Breivogel has been on staff at One Life Church as the Creative Arts Director and part of our teaching team for over 8 years. Almost every design and creative element that One Life has created during that time, Matt has created or been a part of. Matt is also one of the most pastoral people we have on our staff. He and his family care deeply about the mission and vision of the local Church, and One Life Church's mission of helping people far from God, trust, and follow Jesus. Matt's personality and overall positive attitude have made working with him a true joy and just a fun place to be.

This episode is bittersweet in a sense. Matt is following direction from God and moving to a new full-time position with a local business that he has been working freelance for over that past few years. He and his wife, Amanda, sat down with us and shared their personal journey through this decision, and also talk about how they will still be a part of One Life Church, maybe more than ever.

For you as the listener, even if you don't know Matt and Amanda, we believe their story will walk you through a journey of prayer and listening to God as He leads us to where He calls us.

We at One Life already miss having Matt's infectious personality and wisdom in our weekly meetings and conversations, but we are thankful that he is still part of One Life Church, and helping lead in new ways, and we are also excited to see his joy of the gospel and joy of people being used in a new everyday environment.

tl:dr | Matt took a new job. There's no story behind the story. He's following God's leading. We miss him on our staff, but are glad he's not really going anywhere.

We then shift to a special episode of exploring some questions. At One Life we offer a 2-week grouping experience called Kick Start. In Kick Start, people learn the mission, vision, and values of One Life Church and find ways to connect to them.

During this group, there is a space where people are able to write down questions they may have in regards to One Life or in regards to faith, and we say we will answer those either on our Explorers Blog on our website or in this case on the Podcast.
