That's not an accident.

Jesus never asked a question because He needed information. He already knew. He asked because something else was happening. Every question He asked was an invitation. An opening. A way of saying — I see you, and I want you to see yourself.

So, for the next several weeks, we're going to listen.

To understand Easter, we walk this road with Him. Through crowds and betrayal. Through Friday's darkness and Saturday's silence. Because resurrection isn't just what happened to Jesus. It's what happens to us.

They're not waiting for us to be perfect or have all the answers. They're waiting for something simpler and maybe more difficult. They're waiting to be seen—really seen. To hear words that give life instead of words that tear down. To have adults stand with them when things get hard. And to experience people who will show up, not just once, but again and again.

For the next four weeks, we're doing something different. We're going to use the resource, "21 Days of Prayer for the Next Generation," to guide us. But we're not stopping at prayer. We're turning those prayers into real, everyday presence in the lives of young people. Because the next generation isn't the church of tomorrow. They're the church of today.

There's this old saying: "The church is always one generation away from extinction." But here's what else is true—we're also always one generation away from revival. What if this is that generation? What if we're the adults they've been waiting for? Let's not make them wait any longer.

But God's restoration? It starts in a completely different place. It begins with the radical truth that your life already matters to Him. That you don't need to earn your worth or prove your value. He's ready to restore you, not because of what you can become, but because of what you already are to Him.

This January, we're choosing restoration over resolutions. We're discovering how God transforms lives through intentional daily choices that flow from knowing how much we matter. And how, when we live as our lives matter to God, they begin to matter to the world around us.

Because the life that matters isn't the one that's perfect. It's the one that's being restored.

But God's gift that first Christmas? It wasn't on anyone's wishlist. Nobody asked for a baby in a barn. Nobody wanted a Messiah wrapped in rags. Yet two thousand years later, we're still unwrapping this gift. Still discovering that what we needed has become what we want most.

This Advent, we're slowing down together. We're looking at the unexpected ways God shows up. And how His gifts are always better than our wishes. Join us this week as we kick off our Advent series for 2025: Wishlist.

In a culture that moves fast, measures worth in likes and followers, and forgets people who don’t make noise— it’s easy to wonder: “Do I even matter?”

But here’s what Jesus says with absolute clarity: Yes. You do. You are not forgotten. Not dismissed. Not random. You are pursued. Chosen. Loved.

The promise of Easter and the Gospel really is best captured with this: “New begins now.”

Today we begin a new series that examines the intentional life through the lens of the life of Josiah.

They missed the reality of who Jesus truly was because they thought they knew all about him. They missed the forest for the trees. Looking to us, as we spend more time in church and grow familiar with Jesus, we can be at risk of losing sight of just how incredible the reality is of what God has done through him. Have we forgotten to be amazed?

At this point, the disciples are nervous, scared, and confused. Jesus is leaving, and apparently the world will turn against them. At this point, Jesus warns them of what will come so they will not fall away. Jesus wants the disciples to know that no matter what happens next, they are not alone. The Spirit will guide them. The Father loves them. Jesus will come back for them.

Imagine the very first Sunday after Jesus' death. Many people had still not gotten over what took place on Friday at this point. In fact, the followers of Christ were having a very difficult time putting their lives back together. Many of them had scattered – hopeless. That third morning there were a lot of stories circulating. 

In Luke 24 we are told about 2 men who were on their way back to Emmaus, and as they were talking about what took place, trying to make sense of it all, they were encountered by the incognito Jesus. But, little did they know, they were encountering Hope Himself.

What makes this so powerful is that Jesus was fully aware of the disturbing suffering that He was about to face, and yet He had such confidence in the purpose and power of the Father that He moved forward wholeheartedly with peace instead of fear. Moving forward, his peace would be a source of courage for the disciples.

We show our love for Him when our hearts are committed, and when we begin living out what what we profess to be true about our life and our belief.

What is it that we are working for? What is it that we are pursuing? Join us as we pursue these questions during today's message.

I don’t know what your fog was, but you know, maybe you trusted someone, and they took advantage of you. Maybe someone you love has stopped loving you in return. Or maybe you were already dealing with some financial hardships or some health struggles. 

For most of us, we have had some moments where we feel like giving up for this season. Maybe you just want to scream, "Just wake me up when it’s over!"  

When it's hard to see, there are certainties that we can hang on to. 

Even though this world is very broken, as a church, we are going to put all of our weight on the transformative power of the Gospel, because Jesus is the One who changes hearts. He is the one that promises us that we are almost there, but not quite yet.

They’re disappointed, there is a lot they don’t understand. The way forward for them just looks a lot different than they had hoped for. They’re scared. They’re uncertain. They don’t know what they’re supposed to do now. They don’t know where they’re supposed to go now. As Jesus looks around the room, He sees people who are troubled. They’re scared, they’re uncertain, they don’t know what they are supposed to do. 

And so He begins with these words: "Do not let your heart be troubled."

God sent His Son so that we could become His Child (will probably do an invitation to salvation!) God’s purpose was to redeem us. Jesus didn’t just come to FORGIVE, it was much more than that, it was relational… He wanted to adopt us as his children. Because of what God did through Jesus, we now longer have to look at God through the lens of what we have done, but who we are (His child).

The story of Christmas is a reminder that your faith in God is not misplaced. It’s a reminder that even when God is silent, that God is not necessarily still. It is a reminder that God can do anything He chooses to do. The story of Christmas is a reminder that your faith and your hope is not in vain.

In order for us to stay on mission and be obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit, the key question we will be addressing is: 

How should a person of God conduct themselves?
