The feast of Pentecost was the time when God's people gathered to celebrate the beginning of the harvest. Families traveled to Jerusalem with their first fruits to rejoice in what God had begun to do. But Pentecost was a celebration of the beginning, not the end. How perfect that the Holy Spirit is sent to God's people on Pentecost. With the coming of God's Spirit, the church is empowered to be witness for Christ but Acts 2 is just the beginning! As the spirit-filled church today, we are thankful for what God has begun but we want more of what God has for His people and the world.
