The first toxic moment in the 1st century church took place in Acts chapter 5, so let's dig into what threatened the unity of the 1st century church: the stinginess & selfishness of a Christian married couple: Ananias & Sapphira.

How do we walk in the grace and favor of God as witnesses of the resurrection of Jesus today united in Christ?

As we close out Acts chapter 4 and begin our new season in our new building and new space, let's learn the significance of being a Spirit-filled and Spirit led church in gracious generosity in the Name of Christ!

As we dive deeper into some of when the first moments the 1st century church experienced resistance, suffering, and persecution, we are going to explore one of the recognizable attributes of God's church being on fire for His glory, purposes, and mission: BOLDNESS.

As a follower of Jesus, are you bold? Can we pray for boldness? How do we grow in boldness speaking truth in love and living truth by the power and authority of God through the Holy Spirit?

Jesus promised that He will build His church and the gates of Hell will not prevail against His church. Gates are defensive weapons, so there will be resistance to what Jesus is building and we see the first form of suffering the 1st century church experienced.

Today we will dive into the reality of being challenged as the church Jesus is building but know that what God sets on fire cannot be stopped, it can only be multiplied even when the enemy gets annoyed by our anointing in the Holy Spirit!

Today, we are going to see the first miracle in the 1st century church since that day of Pentecost and learn about the power and authority followers of Jesus have through the leading and the power of the Holy Spirit.

The 1st century early church was born and now the lifestyle of the church is on full display. What did the early church prioritize? How did they live on mission together? Let's lean in to the description and prescription of this important passage as we wrap up Acts chapter 2!

God kept His promise that Jesus gave His disciples about sending The Helper, The Holy Spirit and the church was officially born with demonstrations and explanations that multiplied the purpose of God in and through Israel as a witness to the world!

Today, we will lean into this world changing moment that multiplied the movement of the Kingdom of God starting in Jerusalem and look at it's impact on us as disciples of Jesus today!

We see God's faithfulness on display as the apostles discern what God's will was and we learn of an individual named Matthias who had been a witness of the Lord Jesus faithfully!

To be a church on fire demands obedience, unity, and dependency on God's Word.

We will see one essential part of the Gospel narrative in the Ascension of Jesus and what the impact of this meant for the Jesus' followers back then and what it means for Jesus' followers today!

Let's dig into being Triggered by TITHE and see what healthy contextualization of God's Word actually has to say about money, financial literacy, and tithing through the lens of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God.

Sometimes, God leads our life and our assignment in His purpose and mission that triggers us and on this Father's Day 2025, we will look at a moment in the Apostle Peter's life where Peter was triggered by God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit in the Book of Acts.

Starting Sunday, February 16th 2025 🙏🏾

Paul breaks down Christian Warfare in how we don’t fight against people, but we overcome our defeated foe in the victory of Christ and the armor God provides for us!

Today we are going to unpack why Paul gave these instructions and what He wanted the church in Ephesus to value, believe, and do in the context of loving one another through Spirit-filled and Spirit-led Kingdom living for the sake of the Gospel in their city.

Paul then begins to give pastoral instructions with an apostolic foundation to married couples in this final section of Ephesians chapter 5. Let's lean in and see what Paul says and how it impacts our lives as singles in Christ and as Biblically married couples in Christ!

In this section of Ephesians chapter 5, the Apostle Paul teaches the church of Ephesus the meaning of living a Spirit-filled and Spirit-led life that has outward expressions because of internal transformation brought about submission to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

This year, the Word of the Lord this year that God is speaking over us and to us is ROOTED!

Come learn what all this means for our third year as a church plant from our Founding & Lead Pastor Aaron Calhoun as he teaches and cast vision for the year for all of us through Psalm chapter 1.

Paul unpacks practically living that isn’t holy and that can lead to spiritual sleepiness when one lives in darkness instead of light as a follower of Jesus.

Today as we tackle the second half of Ephesians chapter 4, living by the renewing power of the Holy Spirit is key to living and putting on the new ways of the new self by living more like Jesus in the context of missional community as a whole Gospel witness to the unbelieving world around us on a daily basis.

Paul began to explain the unity in Christ the church in Ephesus had and how to practically live out their identity in Christ by walking worthily of God’s calling on them back then, and for us today!

In the second half of Ephesians chapter 3, Paul shares three prayers He had been praying for them while still in his pain for God’s glory and their good.

Ephesians chapter 3 opens up with Paul continuing to lean in to how God has united Jews and Gentiles in Christ by unpacking the SPECIFICS of his Kingdom assignment via God's mystery being revealed in Christ.

In the second half of Ephesians chapter 2, Paul begins to speak and shepherd in a very specific way to the cultural and ethnic diversity in the Ephesus church of Jews and Gentiles.

As we are approaching the 2024 voting day, we will look to what unity in Christ means and how it is lived out in Christ as God's masterpieces created in Christ Jesus for good works and cultivating unity in Christ is an IMPORTANT good work for Jesus followers to live out in relationship to God and one another.

In Christ, this statement is joyfully true, but did you know that your Kingdom Identity in Christ is God's greatest masterpiece?

Pastor Valissa will be teaching and explaining these Gospel truths as we continue through the Book of Ephesians!

Paul clearly paints a picture of our need for the whole Gospel of Jesus and as He is writing to this culturally and ethnically mixed, divided church, Paul is equalizing everyone on the same playing field and shows God's glorious grace in this theological explanation of the Gospel's powerful demonstration through the finished work of Jesus Christ.

Paul's thanksgiving and prayer to God for the saints in Ephesus is profound, so we will unpack his prayer and proclamation of God's power toward His church back then and today so we can get to know Jesus better and better each day as we are renewed and sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

Paul wrote to a mixed local church, full of Jews and Gentiles, who heard the Gospel, received the Gospel, & believed the Gospel which produced a new identity for all of them in Christ.

Why conclude our prayer series on our identity in Christ?

If we don't know WHOSE we are and WHO we are, we will not know HOW to pray and WHY we need to pray.

We will be studying the whole armor of God and how to pray the Word of God, pray in the Holy Spirit, and be victorious in overcoming the enemy by engaging in spiritual warfare in and through Christ by WarPrayer!

Today Miriam will be teaching and preaching God's Word on what it means to genuinely, theologically, and practically follow Jesus today by looking at how John the Baptizer's disciples started to follow Jesus in John 1:35-42 (NIV).

Paul shares some final words with his spiritual son in the Gospel Timothy on fanning into the flame the gift God had put in him. What was Paul reminding Timothy to do with his gifts, character, and prayer life in Christ?

How do we grow from our prayers in the Secret Place to God to Intercessory bold prayers in partnership with God?

Today, we will jump into the Book of Acts and look at the intercessory prayers of the local church for the apostle Peter and the obedient action that took place due to the effective prayers of God's people!

How do we pray without ceasing like they do for us?

Learning to pray in the Spirit is a key ingredient to ongoing conversation with God. How do we do this genuinely and how does God use our prayers with Him as a means of grace of bringing transformation through conversation?

Today, we are going to learn about what Biblical courage and Biblical boldness is by looking at the boldness and confidence of Jesus in John chapter 11 and how Biblical courage and Biblical boldness is needed for our prayer life and our acts of obedient worship to deepen in Christ.

How should we pray?

How does our lifestyle and actions effect our prayers?

Today, we launch into our new teaching series on Prayer: The Alignment of Prayer & Action as we look to the words and instructions of Jesus on prayer as a citizen of the Kingdom of God.

Paul names those he had served with and as he name drops people, he does it in love, respect, and honor while giving some final instructions to this church. May we glean from Paul's relationship and partnership with others and deepen our cultivation of the unity that Jesus prayed for us to have, died for us to live in, and empowered us to invite others into.

What are theological, practical, logical, and faith-filled reasons for holding onto the Truth that God raised Jesus from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit and what are we to do and how are we to live with this same powerful Holy Spirit living inside of us and resting upon us?

The Resurrection of Jesus changes EVERYTHING!

Paul ends his conversation with the church in Corinth on spiritual gifts by unpacking prophecy taking place from the overflow of loving hearts toward God, self, and our neighbors.

How do we build each other up in the church's unity while living in true peace with each other within the divine order that God has established?

Paul brings a pastoral exhortation to this loveless divided church by reminding them how the words, works, and ways of Jesus should be the foundational motivation, inspiration, and dedication in how we treat one another with our actions, words, choices, and operating in the spiritual gifts.

The next three chapters, Paul pastorally teaches, explains, and demonstrates the power, person, and the presence of the Holy Spirit and the gifts the third Person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit, gives to Jesus' Church.

The church in Corinth were horribly divided on the gifts of the Holy Spirit and they used the gifts to create elitism and further division in the church.

What can we learn from Paul's pastoring here? HOW will we walk in the gifts of the Holy Spirit today?

What does it mean to truly honor one another in word and action as men and women of God?

We need to refocus on the whole Gospel of Jesus Christ, and Pastor Valissa teaches the importance of being and remaining disciplined in the whole Gospel.

What are idols? 

How do we, as Spirit-filled + Spirit-led followers of Jesus, identify idols in our lives?

Paul continues to shepherd in a pastoral tone and posture as he answers questions on food sacrificed to idols. As we look at the exegesis of this chapter in our unity series, we will AGAIN unpack how to identify political idols in our current context, become aware of them, and repent of them during this 2024 season of voting and polarizing politics.

What is God's heart on money and how should we worship Him and trust Him with our finances as followers of Jesus? What can we learn from the Christ-like, sacrificial example of Paul?

1st Corinthians chapter 9 unpacks God's heart on money and our lives on mission in an unexpected way, so expect the unexpected to bring transformation to our hearts, minds, and money as we walk through God's Word together.

Pastor Valissa taught the Word of God on Mother's Day 2024 and broke down how Jesus invites us to give Him our ashes for beauty by trusting Him in each season of life as a follower of Jesus.

How do we cultivate a culture that honors the gift of marriage established by the Lord and the gift of singleness that is also established by the Lord in the church and what does it look like to live united and not lift up one over the other?

How do we live a life that declares what Paul stated strongly to the church "You are not your own"?

Paul shepherded this divided church on how to navigate & face the reality of their celebration of sin with a broken heart of confession and repentance before God theologically and practically as a local church.

The resurrection of Jesus changes everything, but why does it matter that this is theologically, historically, and practically true for us today individually, as a Christ-centered community, and for those who do not know or follow Jesus?

Let's unpack this together by walking through Luke chapter 24 and two sets of support Scriptures in 1st Corinthians chapter 15 and celebrate Jesus, our Risen Savior-King's eternally significant resurrection from the dead!

He reminded them of their mission in Christ, the purpose of Biblical leadership, and the unity required by the Gospel in partnering together with the Lord Jesus.

The mind of Christ is the whole Gospel embodied in our theology, practice, and application: Christ crucified, God glorified, Jesus' church edified, and Spirit-empowerment.

What did the Holy Spirit reveal to Paul about unity according to the Gospel? We will find out by studying the exegesis of Ephesians 2:1-22 as our primary set of Scriptures along with the following support Scriptures: Genesis 11:1-9, Acts 2:1-12, and John 17:20-23.

1st Corinthians chapter 1 opens up the heart of Paul as he begins to pastor the church in Corinth in their new identity in Christ, beginning to address their multiple reasons for division, and calls them to unite around the wisdom of God through the cross of Christ.

Pastor Tanner & Lindsay met as high school sweethearts at Russellville High in 2006 and have spent the last 16 years together growing their family & serving the churches of Franklin County they love so dearly. Along with their two sons, Tate & Judd, the Halls have a heart and passion to love people & come alongside them on their journeys to know God, find freedom, discover their purpose, & step into making a difference in the world around us. 

Prior to moving to St. Pete, Jae and Magda lived in Georgia and served at The Square in Smyrna. Jae is the co-host of The Overflow Podcast with Jae & Joaquin, hosts the Ayo Jae! Podcast, does daily 90SCND devotionals that will become a book later this year and runs an indie christian label called LGCY Music. Jae and Magdalena are excited about what God is going to let them be a part of in The Burg as they live a LGCY of Jesus for the renewal of all things.

After experiencing 2 near death accidents in which he was miraculously saved between the ages 6-10, it was clear that God had a unique plan for Adler’s life. Ignoring the signs & leadings from the Lord, Adler fell into deep rebellion which involved promiscuity, drugs, & gang activity.

This consequently followed him throughout High School & College. In 2010, after a string of surreal encounters

with the Lord, and a best friend’s death to gun violence, God finally had Adler’s attention. While sitting in his apartment listening to a conference call Bible Study his life was radically changed after hearing the liberating Gospel of Jesus Christ. This 180 encounter led to the very purpose Adler Corvil was created for. His dynamic, revelatory & prophetic teachings of the word of God, testimony & message of awakening has allowed him to minister on many platforms.

From High-maximum Prisons in Florida to the Red Light districts of Ethiopia and many stops in between, Adler preaches wherever the Lord calls him. Adler currently holds a degree in Theology from Covenant Bible College & Seminary. He & his beautiful wife Marlene of 10 years are currently raising their 3 boys; Ashur, Arrow & Arden. Adler is the founder & lead Pastor of TRIBE College & Young Adults @ New Creation Church of

Tallahassee & served faithfully as the Young Life College Director @ FAMU.
